Sri Lankan Ayurveda
Sri Lanka has its own indigenous scheme of traditional medicine. The ancient kings, who were also prominent physicians, sustained its survival and longevity. King Dasis Ravana was a great Scholar in Rasa Shastra (Alchemy) who had the knowledge of using murcery for eternal youth. He wrote several books revealing the cures for many diseases. King Buddhadasa (398 AD), the most influential of these physicians, wrote the book Sarartha Sangrahaya, a comprehensive manuscript which Sri Lankan physicians still use today for reference.
